Diabetes is a chronic disease that occurs either when the pancreas does not produce enough insulin (Type 1) or when the body cannot effectively use the insulin it produces (Type 2) - Insulin Resistance.
Insulin is a hormone that regulates blood sugar, by either causing the cells to take in excess circulating blood sugar, or simply stores it up as fats and glycogen.
Hyperglycaemia (raised blood sugar), is a common effect (or symptom) of uncontrolled blood sugar. In other words, it is a signal that, either the type 1 or type 2 diabetes is in the body, an if not checked or controlled, over time it will lead to serious damage to many of the body's systems, especially the nerves and blood vessels.
In 2014, 8.5% of adults aged 18 years and older had diabetes. In 2015, diabetes was the direct cause of 1.6 million deaths and in 2012 high blood glucose was the cause of another 2.2 million deaths.
The good news that only a few people now know is that, contrary to many believes in the world today, this chronic disease is quite reversable (curable). Researches have shown that, body pH regulation products with a good diet plan and physical activities, reverses diabetes, take blood sugar and glycated hemoglobin levels back to normal.
As the World's Diabetic Week ends tomorrow, say Bye-Bye to your diabetes.
