Data shows that COVID-19 is mild in 80% of the patients, Severe in 13% of the patients, and critical in 6% of the patients. People may be sick with the virus for 1 to 14 days before developing symptoms.

In critical cases, COVID-19 can cause severe pneumonia or multiple organ failure and can lead to death.

  • About 80% of the patients recover from the disease without needing special treatment.

  • Around 1 out of every 6 people who gets COVID-19 becomes seriously ill and develops difficulty breathing.

  • Older people, and those with underlying medical problems like high blood pressure, heart problems or diabetes, are more likely to develop serious illness.
